Post-Return Depression
Many palagis suffer from this serious aliment. Sadly, many palagis suffer in silence. It is the post-return depression. It occurs after being off island for an extended period, usually involving trips to the mainland. The palagi returns to the territory, happy to have been able to see friends and family on the mainland, but also excited to be back to the tropical paradise. Seemingly, the palagi should be extremely happy. However, the palagi has forgotten about the certain things about life on the lava rock. The lack of four solid walls, the howling dogs, the limited fresh produce and the smell of the tuna cannery early in the morning. The palagi becomes confused, and torn between the material ease of the mainland and the natural beauty of the island. Depression sets in. Luckily, there is a cure. For each palagi, it is slightly different. I have found a weekend with your other palagi friends and a bottle of Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum is a miracle worker. Perhaps I will organize a telethon.

I just put up a new hammock at our house. So when you need a chance to chill, and enjoy the scenery, give me a call.
